                        http://www.wethepeoplerallywv.com/?alt_id=DV0VP-JA274-9J1&ts=1292905869709

 When:            January 12, 2011, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Where:           The West Virginia State Capitol, Charleston, WV

Why:               To stand up for fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets, and to send a message to the legislators that we are here, we are informed, we will hold them accountable, and they are our employees!

Background:

In 2010, West Virginia tea parties formed throughout the state.  Members attended meetings, organized rallies, attended local events, and became active in their communities to educate citizens on fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets.  We played an important role in the historic mid-term elections.

Tea Party members appeared on television and radio shows, wrote editorials and letters to the editor in newspapers around the state, and made local and national news.  We also worked with other local and national organizations to further our cause.  And we're just getting started!

On January 12, 2011, the first day of the Legislative Session, we are coming together to greet our newly elected officials and send a message to the legislators that we are here, we are informed, and we will hold them accountable for their words, their promises, and their actions.

Kandi Montini, leader of the Blue Ridge patriots in Berkeley County, is driving six hours to Charleston on January 12th.  She said, “If I’m starting a new job, my employer is sure to be there on my starting day.  That’s exactly what we want to do for our legislators.  They work for We the People of West Virginia.  We want to welcome them and be sure they understand what we expect of them.  That’s what a good employer should do.”  Montini, and other WV tea party activists,  will be available for interviews before and after the rally.  Some will be attending the state-of-the-state address in the evening of January 12th and will be available for comment on the morning of January 13th.
