More Obama Deception
Lot's of folks are backing and rebutting the statements president Obama made during a campaign speech in Virginia. Here's my modest effort.
Firstly, does anyone realize that this concept was put forth last September by Elizabeth Warren? You know her, she's the high cheekboned, blonde, blue-eyed Cherokee running for US Senate in Massachusetts. She said, “You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for...” (Side note, for this she won the AARP “Inspire” award.)
Secondly, why are candidates for federal office bringing up the infrastructure etc. provided by local and state taxes? Also, why tax the “rich” into poverty at the federal level because they're using services provided at the local level? Is this some kind of justification, or a smoke screen?
Thirdly, let's say for a moment that I'm a factory owner. It's true; I do utilize all of the infrastructure and services mentioned. But were they procured exclusively for me? That teacher who inspired me, was she in that classroom with just me? Are the roads leading to my factory put there just for me?
Of course not. There were 29 other children in that classroom. Did any of them build a factory? Maybe. Thousands of folk drive up and down the highway near my factory. Could any of them build a business that created so many jobs? Yes, Probably.
Lastly, (still assuming I own a factory) didn't I already pay my fair share of taxes for the firemen, highways, bridges, and teachers? As a factory owner, I pay property tax on both my home and my factory. I pay income tax, personal and business
