Greetings Patriots,


Thank you for the support during the election cycle. Tea Party candidate Allen Loughry has been elected to the WV Supreme Court. Patrick Morrisey, who already stood for states’ rights, will serve West Virginia as Attorney General and pledges to use his position to stand up for West Virginia against unconstitutional acts by the Federal Government. If the results stand after canvas on Tuesday, Tea Party candidate Danny Hamrick will represent District 48 in the House of Delegates. Though Romney did not win the presidency, West Virginia voted for him. We did our part, and we have victories
to celebrate.

 Location: YWCA in downtown Clarksburg (Located behind the Courthouse.)

 This will be a time to celebrate victories and get to know one another. If you have never been to one of our meetings, come so we can meet you. There will be a lot for conservatives to do over the next four years. We would appreciate you joining us as we head into 2013.


We are asking everyone to bring a covered dish to share, so we
can enjoy a meal together.


Veterans’ Day Parade

 Location: Downtown Clarksburg (Meet at the Senior Center.)

 The Tea Party will have a spot in the parade. Come walk with us and pay tribute to our veterans.

But I Don't Want to Vote! Why Should I?

Are you tired of political commercials? Do wish those political  signs would just go away? Of course, you may throw something, if you get one  more political call. Please, do not let bitterness from the political cycle keep  you from the polls on Tuesday. Our country needs people to protect freedom for  future generations, support good people, and stand up for their values at the ballot box on Election Day.

 We  have been blessed with freedom in this nation. We protect our freedom through  votes. Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our  children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for  them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our  hildren and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.” We could be the generation that loses the freedom our  Founding Fathers sacrificed so greatly to ensure for our nation. One of purposes  of our Constitution is to “secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our  posterity.”Posterity is simply the future generations. As part of upholding the  Constitution, we are securing “the blessings of liberty” for our children and  their children. When my grandchildren climb onto my lap and ask what I did so  they could live in a free nation, I want to have an answer. I will not say, “Nothing. I’m just not interested in politics.” I will not say, “Nothing. I  really could not make a difference anyway.” I will say, “I made my voice heard  by voting for the candidates I thought would do the best  job.”
 
Many  people claim they do not vote because there are no good candidates. If that is  you, please consider that there may be no good candidates because the good  people do not vote; therefore a candidate cannot win by being “good”. Also,  consider that there may be good candidates, but a 30 second television  commercial only reflects a snippet of a person’s life. People are naturally  drawn toward the negative, so the media reflects the negative. As much as  people claim to dislike negative advertising, it works, so candidates tend to  point out the flaws of their opponents instead of their own strengths. The  truth is everyone makes mistakes and no one will agree with any one of us 100%  of the time. Find out which candidates will vote to best support your values,  and don’t write them off just because their opponent says they are evil. If you  are a good person, do your best to vote for good people.  According  to Thomas Jefferson, “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good  conscience to remain silent.” Are you a person of good conscience? Will you remain silent and let  tyranny gain a foothold or will you make your voice heard through your  vote? 

It is true that you may not know which candidates will promote  your values. Not everyone can go to town halls and meet the candidate events.  Does that mean you cannot make an informed decision? Try finding organizations  that support your values. Here at the North Central West Virginia Tea Party, we  support fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and  accountability of elected officials. We try to encourage support of candidates  who do the same. Political parties have headquarters where people can get  information on where candidates stand on the issues. Although I do not encourage  people to vote merely based on political party, people can always look at the  party platforms and vote for candidates in the party that best represents their  values. In this information age, please, do not let lack of information be your  reason for not voting.
 
This is your opportunity to stand for future generations, to  stand as good people, and to stand representing our values. Will you take this  opportunity or will you leave it in the hands of someone else? You have a voice!  You have an opinion! You have a vote! Please, use your vote to express your  opinion and make your voice heard!

Greetings Patriots,

 As many West Virginians are recovering from last week’s storms, I pray that you are all doing  well. West Virginians are resilient people who help each other, and I have heard
many stories of people standing together through the storms. Now, we will stand  together, as Americans and West Virginians, for fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and accountability of elected officials.

 VOTE!

 The election that will shape the future of this nation is Tuesday. If you have not voted, please go to your polling place on Tuesday. If you live in an area still affected by  the storm, call your county clerk’s office to make sure that your usual polling place will be open.If you have already voted, talk to your conservative friends. Make sure they vote.

 When you vote, be  sure to vote for candidates that will take a stand for fiscal responsibility,  constitutionally limited government, and accountability of elected officials. Visit our website for a list of Tea Party candidates and do your own research.
It is crucial to get conservatives elected this year. Please, do your

Gingerbread House

TEA Party members decry the advance of “the progressive agenda,” repeatedly
in heated rhetoric.  According to these people, the only thing wrong with
the United States is progressivism.  Well, what is the progressive agenda,
and if it's so bad, why has it steadily advanced these past 101 years?


I doubt if I can extract every niche and facet of what progressivism is in a
short blog entry; I'll try to cover the overarching, driving principles.


* Man is perfectible, and has been evolving and improving steadily since
the beginning of time.
* The form and scope of government should advance
as humankind evolves for the better.
* Government should be run by
acknowledged “experts,” in the Executive Branch, far away from the corruption
and intrigue of elections.


Woodrow Wilson (president of Princeton University, governor of New
Jersey,  American president), was probably the most articulate proponent of
progressivism.  He compared the founder's view of the Constitution with a
machine: unthinking, unemotional, and rigid.  He thought we should consider
the Constitution more as a living breathing instrument of whatever the people at
a particular time thought freedom should be.  “All progressives ask,” he
stated in a speech, “is recognition of the fact that a nation is a living thing
and not a machine.”


The idea of checks and balances repulsed him.  How could any living
thing survive if some of its organs were constantly fighting and hindering the
rest?   To get around these chains of the Constitution, he proposed
that government shouldn't extend very far beyond the executive branch. 
Since the president is the only office-holder elected by the entire nation, it's
his job – his mandate – to administer the government as he sees fit.


Getting politics out of governance sounds like such a wonderful, idyllic
solution.  Never mind that it takes away from the people (for whom
governments are formed in the first place) the consent of the governed. 
Wilson felt that getting politics out was actually a move toward a more
democratic system.  The unelected “experts,” running the government, would
be more responsive and competent than some Arkansas pig farmer who happened to
get himself elected to Congress.


Wilson was president when the 16th (income tax) and 17th (election of
senators) amendments were ratified (within three months of each other).  If
the government were to expand to encompass all of the wonderful services
envisioned by progressives, the executive branch would need a lot more money to
operate.  Direct election of senators was supposed to bring the citizens
closer to a true democracy.  Which is quite contrary to Wilson's dream of a
totally irrelevant legislative branch. 


While I cannot read the intentions written on anyone's heart, I do not
believe any of the early progressives were evil (as they are so often
portrayed).  They honestly wanted a modern, responsive, service-oriented,
and incorruptible government.  They championed woman’s
suffrage.   They banned demon rum. Banished children working in mines
and factories. Is it any wonder both political parties embraced these
progressive aims?  Such benevolence would have EVERYONE flocking to support
it.


As long as issues like these passed through the normal legislative process,
we would still favor most of them.  After all, it was the states that voted
away their representation in Congress by approving the 17th amendment. 
Prohibition brought the rise of the gangster era, and – in the end – was
repealed by the same states that had passed it a few years earlier.


Inside the modern, responsive, service-oriented, and incorruptible
gingerbread house, there lurks a boiling cauldron.


Income tax forces you to share your pay stub and your bank statement with the
government; a possible violation of the fourth amendment (no searching of
personal papers etc. without a warrant).


The experts in the executive branch now churn out between 13,000 and 30,000
pages of regulations per year.  Regulations with the clout of real laws.
They were not discussed and debated by elected legislators. The executive branch
has expanded with an alphabet soup of agencies (EPA, HHS, OSHA, etc.) determined
to make the world a better place while unintentionally destroying people's lives
in the process. 


Perhaps we should forget about, “no taxation without representation,” and
embrace instead the call for, “No regulation without representation.”

How Easy is Voter Fraud?

How easy is voter fraud?

 Registering to vote.

 Here is a link to a web site being widely promoted to the illegal alien
community, https://register2.rockthevote.com/registrants/map/?partner=14683
that tells people how to register to vote online.

 It is being provided by the pro-illegal alien group America's
Voice through massive e-mailings to their
supporters.

 To register to vote in most states, including WV, the only real
requirements are: 1) checking a box that says you are a citizen 2) A physical
address so a voting precinct can be assigned. 3) A mailing address to receive
your voter registration card. 4) As for an ID being requested, a “Help link”
(“?” icon on the form) gives the following
explanation:
 
“You must provide your driver's license or non-driver ID number.
If you do not have a driver's license or non-driver ID number, then you must
provide the last four digits of your Social Security number. If you do not have
a driver's license or a Social Security number, please enter "NONE" and the
state will assign you an identification number for the purposes of
voting.”

 The only additional requirement prior to voting is to provide a document (or copy) that has your name and address – like a utility bill or bank
statement.



HELLO???



What is to stop an illegal alien (who has already broken the law
at least once by entering the country) from checking the “I am a citizen” box?
NO ONE will verify this. No “Voter ID” ( that has been issued after verification
of citizenship) is required. VOTER FRAUD IS THUS IMPOSSIBLE TO PROVE! NATALIE TENNANT AND THE LIBERAL LEFT (LIKE THE ACORN MORPHS) KNOW THIS. For that matter  what is to stop any one individual from registering multiple times under fictitious names? NOTHING! How can it be discovered? It cannot. Thus the liberal mantra “There are almost no cases of proven voter fraud. There is no problem. We don't need Voter ID that would only disenfranchise the poor, the minorities, and
the elderly.”

 There is nothing to see here... move along.

What is American exceptionalism?

We hear a lot of talk about American exceptionalism.  The left poo-poo's
the very idea.  Conservatives extol it while not really not knowing what it
is.  President Obama said, “I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I
suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe
in Greek exceptionalism.”  


Even believers aren't exactly sure what they mean when they speak of it.


Do we believe Americans are somehow smarter, stronger, or more
virtuous?  Obviously not, but this is the argument used to deride the
theory, because this is the only argument the left can muster against it. 
(Because they don't understand it either.)


Webster's dictionary defines exceptional as: Rare.  Better or worse than
the norm, usually superior.


I see  American exceptionalism in two parts: the origin and the
result.


Our Constitution (and thus the country) was formed in a unique
circumstance:  we were not conquered, we were not at war, nor was there a
second (counter) revolution.  This is how most nations are created.
Instead, a group of learned men discussed and debated just how a country should
be run.  Ideas were entertained, some embraced but many discarded. 
The root of it all was the idea that the power of government would be held by
the people.  Instead of most power being vested in a monarch, or even a
legislature (parliament), this government would be centered around the very
Constitution they were creating.  This is why office-holders swear to
uphold the Constitution upon taking office.  So, by definition, this was
both rare and superior to nearly every scheme that had been tried before. 
Exceptional.


The convention of learned men who created the Constitution had nearly all
read Adam Smith's book, The Wealth of Nations (published in 1776).  As a
result, the federal government was restricted in what it could do to limit or
infringe on a free market economy.  Article I, Section 8 mentions that
although the government can impose taxes, duties, imposts and excises, all must
be uniform throughout the US.  (no special interests, no lobbyists getting
sweetheart deals, no picking winners and losers). 


The government can regulate commerce with foreign nations, Indian tribes, as
well as among the states.  We would expect a central government to handle
foreign trade treaties etc.  The regulation of interstate commerce was
mainly seen (at the time) as a way to handle disputes and ensure fair
trade.  Otherwise, the federal government had no authority over private
businesses.  The Founders wanted no repeat of the turmoil created by the
Stamp Act (1765 to 1766).


The new government insured profitability of new ideas with trademarks and
patents.  (Also included in  Article I, Section 8)


Businesses large and small were allowed to succeed or fail based on their
merits.  Commerce had the flexibility to weather bad times and embrace the
industrial revolution.  From the local cobbler to General Motors to
everything in between, businesses had the freedom to succeed or fail on their
own, unencumbered by the central government.  The entrepreneurial spirit
could be harnessed by anyone with an idea for a new product or service and the
willingness to try. 


Some of these entrepreneurs became very wealthy.  Most did not. 
But even moderate success is still success.  Many of the businessmen who
failed at one thing succeeded later at another venture.  Are you aware that
the Ford Motor Company you know was Henry Ford's fourth attempt at creating a
company to make cars?  As the name indicates, the Model T was his 20th
design.  No one ever said the right to pursue happiness would be easy.


America not only allowed entrepreneurs to try, the nation encouraged
it!  (up until the twentieth century, but that's another story). 
Although only having about 6% of the world's population, within 150 years, our
nation produced 50% of the world's manufactured products.  This makes our
nation very rare and superior, indeed.

Greetings Patriots!


We are only 10 days away from the most important  election in our lifetimes!  This
election will likely set the tone for the next 60 years or more in America.  Will we fall into socialism and or will  we be reborn in liberty?  Your vote  will decide!  There are lots of  things to do in the next 10 days and many of them will pop up at the last  minute.  Please check your e-mail,  Facebook, and Twitter frequently and spread the word about upcoming events to  anyone who might want to know.  I apologize that this e-mail is so long, but there is just so much going on right  now.  I promise that my e-mails  after November 6thwill be  shorter! 

Tea Party Express is in  Buckhannon this Sunday!

 The Tea Party Express will be in Buckhannon this Sunday, October  28, 2012 for a rally at the Upshur County courthouse at 2:00 p.m.   The physical address is 40 West Main Street, Buckhannon WV   26201.  Come out and get  energized for the last days of the election!  
 
Congressman McKinley Town  Hall this Monday!


This Monday, October 29, 2012 at 6:00 p.m., Congressman McKinley  will be holding a town hall style meeting at the Harrison County YWCA, 305  Washington Avenue, Clarksburg (the same place we hold our monthly  meetings).  He will be taking
questions from the audience and I will be moderating the event.   He requested that we set up this event because he wants an opportunity to  answer any questions you may have for him, including the tough ones!  

Please come out and bring your friends, family and neighbors to meet your
Congressman and ask him questions!  
 
Last Tea Party Phone Banking  Night this Tuesday!

 The Republican Party has offered the Tea Party the chance to take  over their phones for a night this Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00  p.m.  to help get out the  conservative vote.  All the  rallies and meetings in the world are useless if conservatives don’t come to the  polls and get conservative people elected.  We have some great conservatives  running this year who support our values of constitutionally limited government,  fiscal responsibility, and accountability of elected officials.  
 
Phone calls help win elections so please come out and help us push great conservatives to the finish line! 
 
One Man  Can

 Joseph Spencer came to West Virginia for a few weeks to teach us  about his website http://www.onemancan.organd how it can help us turn  out the conservative vote in West Virginia.  He hopes to eventually go national with  the program, but he is testing it out in West Virginia this year because he  wants to see John Raese get elected to the Senate. 
 
Please go to the link above and watch the one minute video that explains what the program is.  If it sounds interesting, then there are more videos and information on the website  to get you started.  
 
The bottom line is that he is encouraging you to go around your  own precinct and knock on the doors of Republicans and Independents that live near you and introduce yourself.  Then leave them a blank sample ballot on their door a few days later with
a handwritten note to call you if they have any questions.   Finally, a couple of days before the election, you leave them one final  sample ballot with your choices marked and a note saying this is the way you  intend to vote and that you hope they come out to vote on Election Day.  Then on Election Day you follow up as  best you can with them to try to get them to the polls.  
  
With everything going on, I know it is difficult to find time to  do this, but if it brings a few more conservatives out to the polls in every  precinct it could be the difference between victory and defeat in a close  race.   


Early Voting Has  Begun!

 Don’t wait until Election Day to vote!  You can vote early and then help get other conservative people to the  polls on Election Day!  
 
Early voting is at your local county courthouse for most  counties. It is in Harrison County from 8:30 to 4:30 Monday through Friday of  next week and from 9 to 5 on Saturdays remaining before the Election at the  County Courthouse.  Check with  your county clerk for times and location of early voting if you live outside of  Harrison County. One nice thing about early voting is that all people from the  county vote in one place, so you can bring friends, family and neighbors with  you, even if they live in a different part of the county.  
 
I was the first voter in Harrison County and it  felt good to know that I had done my part for constitutionally limited  government, fiscal responsibility, and accountability of elected officials.  Let’s elect a new president and  conservatives all the way up and down the  ticket!


Keep making your voice heard!  The finish line is almost in  sight!

SURPRISE!

Another bill where you have to pass it to  see what is in it! Right here in West Virginia! Pelosi’s  famous comment on Obamacare has been copied by Charleston Democrats!Thank you Manchin.Thank you Tomblin. Thank you progressive  controlled legislature.Thank you  for The Alternative and Renewable Energy Act,  which is more commonly known as West Virginia Cap and Trade.  
 
Supporters say that it is not cap and trade because it doesn't cap carbon emissions.  This is a deceptive Lie. It caps coal use instead! The point is that it is designed to destroy our coal industry and raise the electric prices of consumers by requiring West Virginia electric plants to use less coal.  Whether it reduces carbon in the atmosphere or not is irrelevant.  Stop lying and deceiving us.
 
No one seems to deny the “Trade” aspect, which is that it requires the purchase (trade) of  credits for any utility that does not meet the 75% Cap on Coal.  (These credits are expensive.  As Obama said “Sure they can build a coal fired plant, it will just cause them to go bankrupt”).
 
NOW we are finding out that the cap only applies to electricity sold to West
Virginians!So let me get this straight.The utilities can sell all the cheap coal fired electricity they want to other states, at high auction  rates, for big profits.  But
Charleston incumbents have forced them to sell the expensive alternate energy (wind) electricity to West Virginia residents to meet the Cap.No wonder  rate increases were approved by Charleston for West Virginia residents! I was wondering how that could be allowed. Now I know.
 
Manchin,  Tomblin, and the incumbents in  Charleston passed the Cap and Trade Bill to get special interest campaign money from the electric producers.  Why?  By allowing them to get high profits on cheap coal fired electricity sold at open market auction to other states.   Also, by allowing  them to increase rates to sell the high priced alternative
energy produced electricity to the residents of West Virginia.   Higher profits for electric companies.  Higher electricity rates for West Virginians.Here in Harrison County,
all four of our House of Delegate members voted for this:  Miley, Fragale, Iaquinta, and Cann.
 
Our own elected officials gave Obama a gift for political considerations.  Our own
elected officials gave the special interest electric corporations a gift for
campaign contributions.  (The Tuesday October 2nd edition of the Exponent revealed the $1,000 campaign donations from American Electric Power).  Our own elected officials forced every West Virginian that buys electricity to pay for the gifts, with the
higher electric rates granted last year (with more to come - Surprise!) for
expensive alternative energy instead of cheap gas or coal. (Gas electric generation is capped for sale to West Virginians too.  Even the more expensive clean coal methods of “supercritical” and “ultra supercritical”   - which at least uses coal - was capped by Charleston Democrats, to give Obama his gift of all the expensive  windmills that West Virginians are being forced to pay for).  The Charleston  incumbents are costing us money  for personal political considerations and special interest considerations.    They are not doing what is best for the people of West Virginia.

In only two weeks, Americans will go to the polls and vote in an election that will
determine the direction of this nation. If you have never spoken out for fiscal
responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and accountability of
elected officials, now is the time. We need you help to get the conservative
vote out. Now, is the time for you to take action in preserving the blessings of
liberty for ourselves and for future generations.

Early  Voting Starts Tomorrow

 Date: October 24- November 3
 Location:  Voter Registration Office in the County Courthouse

Early voting starts tomorrow in West Virginia. Please, take the opportunity to vote
early in this election. If you have already voted, you won’t have to worry if
you get busy or sick on election day. Another benefit to voting early is that
you can be available to insure other conservatives get to the polls on election
day. We need every conservative voice to be heard in this election. It is time
for something better!

 Some of our Tea Party members attended a very informative training about getting out
the conservative vote. Many of the techniques discussed will be effective in the
long term getting more conservatives in office in future elections. Time grows
short in this election, but there is still time to help. Please, view the video

Greetings Patriots,

We only have a few weeks until the most important election of our
lifetime. I would like to invite everyone to be involved in this historic

Chenoweth Dr.

Drew Cumings, from the Harrison County GOP Victory Headquarters,
has offered an opportunity to help get out the conservative vote. Every Tuesday
until the election will be Tea Party Tuesday at the Victory Headquarters. We
will be calling identified likely conservative voters and reminding them to vote
in this important election.
